In conjunction with Myriad, I participated as coordinator for the 15th anniversary KAITO album The Harbor of Drifting Blue! I also composed the second song on it, “Rain Summer”.

Despite a lot of unexpected difficulties happening during the year of production, everyone was able to pull through, and I think it became quite the wonderful product. I hope it can be an album that will bring people happiness in the current times.

In regards to “Rain Summer”, the lyrics were written by Geiky. The conlang is also his (not mine), so I requested an English translation of it as well (posted below). I thank him for capturing the intended mood of the song very well with it.

Expunging any and all omens of admonishment,
I offer to the heavens my most noble invitation.
Pray, come, waver, tremble, pour down, rest and descend upon
the very tips of my fingers.

Our most fervent wishes, realized unbeknownst to us;
(Hold my hands, as vanes)
Our ambitions, soon to be fulfilled;
(Nestle your droplets in my eyes)
take all that we hold in our hearts,
(Sing thunder with my voice)
and let it fall like rain over our land.
(Flow, swell the sky and come to me)

Arriving at the noblest of heavens, standing at the reverent skyclad shrine,
(Hold my heart in your infinite clouds)
(Flow, swell the sky and come to me)
I shall weave forth my song.
(Feel my breath over your thunderous atmosphere)
(Flow, swell the sky and come to me)

As we sow stars upon the murky darkness of the threatening sky,
(Gaze upon my skyclad body as it dances in your azure)
let us set our desires free, as they dance through the halls of the celestial palaces,
(Flow, swell the sky and come to me)
to the rhythm of the holiest of thunders, filling the clouds as they weave upon them a myriad unknown constellations.
(Listen, listen to my silent footsteps)
(Flow, swell the sky and come to me)

Let us sing past the rust that clumps in the ravaged cords of this voice.
(I am here, I am here, and I’m calling to your soul)
With our lips, let us place fleeting kisses upon the hidden threads of rain and dew,
(Flow, swell the sky and come to me)
so that when our souls give in to the embrace of the heavens,
(Join your voice with mine, as one)
may the clouds swell with rain!
(Flow, swell, come to me…)

O incessant downpour, flowing and overflowing in the high skies,
(Hold my hands, as vanes)
let yourself fall upon these open arms of mine,
(Nestle your droplets in my eyes)
and bathe the heavens and the land alike with your presence.
(Sing thunder with my voice)
(Flow, swell the sky and come to me)

Soothing every single lamentation that resounds far into this world,
(Hold my heart in your infinite clouds)
(Flow, swell the sky and come to me)
I shall sing of a poem of healing!
(Feel my breath over your thunderous atmosphere)
(Flow, swell the sky and come to me)

There will come a time when the boundaries between heaven and earth shall close,
(Gaze upon my skyclad body as it dances in your azure)
taking with them the spirals of sunlight that nourish our forests,
(Flow, swell the sky and come to me)
and driving the voices of our people to cry in hollow echoes of thirst.
(Listen, listen to my silent footsteps)
(Flow, swell the sky and come to me)

And when that time comes, pray, remember this bond,
(I am here, I am here, and I’m calling to your soul)
reach out to the heavens with your hands, and yet again give in to the embrace of the clouds,
(Flow, swell the sky and come to me)
and welcoming all that the heavens have to give you,
(Join your voice with mine, as one)
may you offer your prayers in song!
(Flow, swell, come to me…)

Accepting all of the sky in my heart, I will sing for a new tomorrow!
